Welcome to Sideline Art!

Sideline Art is a collection of my paintings and sketches that I do in my spare time.   As a sideline if you like; hence the name.   I´ve little training in painting with oil and acrylics, making for a lot of "trial and error" learning as I progress.   I have a background in Interior/Spatial Design and an experienced Kitchen Designer.   Much of the skills from these industries cross over and are of great benefit when working out proportions, colour mixes, shading and shaping.   Photography plays an important part too, as I mainly choose my subject matter from my photographic collection.   The real challenge of course, is giving my best impression of what I see in a photograph and transferring it to canvas.  

I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I have enjoyed painting them.
